Mini album
Here's the cover to the mini book I have been making for my husband. I used a 7 gypsies 6x6 mini chipboard album. The paper is from the summer stack (I think). I embossed a piece of off white card stock with the musical note cuttle bug folder and then distressed it with various Distress inks. I used Marion's (from apieceofcraft.com) chipboard embossing technique for the letters. I cut the letters out with Plantin schoolbook (cricut).
The whole book is still a work in progress, I just want to show off the cool cuts from Fabulous Finds. I made these super cute file folders cut at 4 inches and the bookplate at 3 inches. I used Distress crackle paint to give the bookplate a metallic look.
Here's a picture with the open folders. I have 3 stacked on top of each other. I am adding pictures of our daughters here.
I am at a loss with the page on the left. I had a lot of fun distressing the heck out of it, but now I am not sure where it will go. I am thinking of putting a cute pull out card for pictures and letters from his friends and family. On the right is a 6x3 page for journaling. The cuts were made at 2 inches with Plantin Schoobook
.
These pages are still really rough. I wanted to show the hinges on the right that I cut with Fabulous Finds. I also cut the library card with FF and the clipboard. What a great cart!
Here is the back side of the hinges. I cut them out of black card stock, painted them with bronze distress crackle and rubbed them with black dye based ink. The Right side is some emboss resist using my new 7 gypsies stamp, black embossing powder and Distress ink over the whole thing.
To the left is a journaling page. I used stamps from the making memories ornaments collection. The branch was cut with Potpourri cc and embossed with gold embossing powder and another 7 gypsies stamp
This was cut from Potpourri and the numbers from Plantin. My husband is a civil engineer and works on 101. I am using rings from 7 gypsies.

This album is still kinda rough, but it is masculine and grungy. Perfect for my husband. I am going to add some great acetate pages (I love my staz-on ink!), more folders, tags, manly charms, envelopes, etc . I am happy with how it is turning out. Now if only I can get our families to send me the pictures and sentiments.........

I can't find it~!
I lost my camera! Death to a blogger, lol!!! I have the best mini scrapbook that I am making for my husbands 40th birthday. It is masculine and very grungy. Just how I like my mini's, the grungy part anyway. Cross your fingers and send me finding stuff fairy dust so I can post pictures. I have also posted a few more links. Capture the moment and poppy paper. They are so great for cardmaking. I have a totally different asthetic for cards and scrapbooks. Anyone else? I love grungy meets shabby chic for my scrapbooks and clean and simple like papertrey ink stuff for cards.

Fabulous Finds
I thought FF was a brilliant cart when I bought it last year. When I got it home, however, I was totally stumped. My mind was a total blank. I even thought of selling it! I am so glad I didn't. I am working on a mini album and using many many cuts from FF to make embellies, etc. This cart, with some great techniques, is so fun!!! I will be posting pics soon.......

doodlecharm+zoobaloo christmas card
Halloween card!
here's my first ACY card. This cart is amazing. Just look at the detail!
This is a standard A2 envelope card. Just take your 8.5 by 11 white card stock and cut it in half. Make sure you cut it down the middle on the 11 in side. I cut a piece of patterned Halloween paper at 4 inches by 5 inches. the Halloween piece is gold card stock cut at 1 inch by 5 inches. and the trick or treating witch was cut at 3 and a half inches.
To assemble I inked the edges of the white card stock with brown ink. I used my cool $1 Halloween stamp I got at Michael's last year for the stamp but you could use any stamp, spell out the word with letter stamps, or even print it out with your favorite font on the computer.
I used mono-adhesive to attach the patterned paper to the card. Then I tied my bow (ribbon from Michael's), attached the Halloween strip, then my witch cut. Before I attached my witch I added some cute dots with a white gel pen.
Feel free to scrap lift, just don't sell it. K?
Happy Scrapping!

new cricut cartridges!!!
I finally ordered 2 cartridges I have been dying to get my hands on for homeschooling...50 states and zoobaloo. My oldest dd is starting her third/4Th grade year and we will have a lot of fun working on all of the states plus flowers, flags, birds, and capitols. I am doing an informal kindergarten year with my younger dd. She is a year off from kindergarten still, but has already mastered her preschool stuff so we will continue to work on reading and numbers. She is an animal fanatic so the font I chose HAD to be zoobaloo with all of the fantastic animal. I haven't had a chance to sit down with them and have some fun, been to busy with housework and helping to plan a baby shower this weekend. PS, I will post the cute banner I made for the shower plus an additional garland in the next post. They are so stinkin cute!
